As part of its focused intervention study (FIS) for this term, the Gauteng Provincial Legislature’s Infrastructure Development Portfolio Committee is holding a Committee Meeting with the Department of Infrastructure Development, the Department’s client Departments, Contractors doing business with the Department and interested stakeholders.
The topic is “Poor workmanship by contractors and late payment of contractors as factors to project delays”

The purpose of the focused intervention study is to provide the impetus and strategic direction for the Committee’s oversight role, doing away with a reactive or ad-hoc approach and presenting a more proactive approach.

The study is significant in that it makes provision for the information provided by the Department to be verified, to make sure that service deliver takes place.
