The Gauteng Legislature’s hosting of the Women’s Sector Parliament is in a bid to empower the women of Gauteng to participate in the Legislative processes, to influence and lobby decision-makers for change and to foster bias policies towards the developmental course for women, the growth of economy and systematic deepening of democracy.

The theme for the 2022 Women’s Sector Parliament is “Gauteng Legislature, following up on our commitments to the people of Gauteng”

Topics to be discussed at the Women’s Sector Parliament include the following:

  • Role of women in improving access and transformation of the health care in Gauteng   
  • Response to GBV by Police/Women’s Safety and effects of trafficking of women and children
  • Township Economic development Act: Addressing the empowerment & contribution of women in the economic stream
