The Standing Committee on Public Accounts (SCOPA) will convene for its Annual Breakaway Session tomorrow. This session will offer critical insights and updates on the 2022/23 audit outcomes of Gauteng Provincial Government Departments and entities.

The SCOPA Annual Breakaway Session dedicated to ensuring accountability and transparency within the Gauteng governance landscape and brings together stakeholders and institutions. The following bodies will present at the Breakaway Session:
- The Office of the Auditor-General of South Africa (AGSA).
- The Forensic Unit of the Office of the Premier of Gauteng.
- The Gauteng Offices of the Public Service Commissioner.
- The Public Protector.
- The Gauteng Provincial Treasury’s Gauteng Audit Service (GAS).
These presentations comprehensively review audit outcomes, investigations, and findings for the financial year ending in March 2023. These inputs are vital for SCOPA to gain a deeper understanding of the state of financial governance as it exercises accountability over Gauteng Government Departments and their entities.
