In line with its mandate of taking the legislature to the people, the Gauteng Provincial Legislature (GPL) will host its annual Youth Sector Parliament on Friday, 31 July 2020 virtually, in adherence to government regulations to curb the spread of Covid-19.

Through this Sector Parliament, youths from across all five Gauteng regions will have an opportunity to engage with the Legislature and the Provincial Government on socio-economic challenges facing them, and recommend their own solutions to address these.

This year’s Youth Sector Parliament will focus on the following topics:

Growth prospects for Gauteng’s economy post Covid-19: Youth entrepreneurship and employment.
Gauteng’s Covid-19 response: Did the province get its planning right on healthcare and societal behaviour?
Progress made by the Gauteng Department of Education to address youth employment through skills development.
Catch the proceedings live on YouTube (link) on Friday, 31st July 2020 from 10h00 to 12h00

Members of the Media are invited. All Sector Parliaments are open to the public, and people of Gauteng are encouraged to participate meaningfully in all GPL processes.
