The Gauteng Provincial Legislature (GPL), under the leadership of the Speaker, Honourable Morakane Mosupyoe, will on Thursday, 10 July 2025 host a special event in Mamelodi in commemoration of the birthday of the late struggle icon and liberation hero, Solomon Kalushi Mahlangu.
Born on 10 July 1956 in Tshwane, Solomon Mahlangu remains a symbol of youth activism and unwavering commitment to the liberation of South Africa.
To honour his legacy and inspire young people to become active participants in shaping their future, the GPL will mark this occasion with a Youth Soccer Tournament and Career Expo.
This event aims to celebrate Mahlangu’s life through sport and education, two powerful tools in youth development and empowerment.
