As part of its oversight role, the Portfolio Committee on Infrastructure Development conducted an oversight visit today at the Helen Joseph Hospital where the Department of Infrastructure Development (DID) is currently constructing a Pathology and Psychiatric Wards. The visit forms part of a series of oversight visits conducted by the Committee at construction projects currently being implemented by #DID in the Province. The purpose of these visits is to establish challenges experienced during the construction period with special focus on Community disruptions that affect the implantation of projects and the late payment of Contractors by the DID which often causes delays in the completion of projects. The Committee was generally pleased with the progress made at the Hellen Joseph Hospital site and will continue to monitor the project.
