The Speaker of the West Rand District Municipality Cllr. Bethuel Munyai held a joint programme (workshop) with Gauteng Speakers Forum and West Rand District Municipality to host a joint Speakers Forum, at the IMBIZO Council Chambers in Randfontein. The meeting was attended by West Rand District Speakers forum, Municipal Councils, Gauteng Provincial Legislature, COGTA and SALGA officials.
The workshop allowed for presentations followed by questions and answers, on Municipal Staff Regulations and District Development Model, Objectives, Scope, Support required from Municipal Councils, institutionalizing DDM in municipal planning processes followed by: The Collaboration between The Gauteng Provincial Legislature and Municipal Councils. The last presentation was from SALGA which dealt with the review of Proposed Standing Rules and Order.
