Tuesday, 18 November 2025 marks the official launch of the Gauteng Provincial Legislature’s (GPL) 2025 Voter Education Campaign, themed: ‘Active, Healthy & Responsible Citizenry’.

The Campaign is the GPL’s response to increasing voter apathy, with the 2024 polls registering the lowest voter turnout at 58,64% since 1994.

With voter apathy continuing to threaten democratic participation, the campaign aims to remind residents about the importance of their vote as a catalyst for change.

GPL Presiding Officers will lead the campaign across the Gauteng province. They will challenge residents to take advantage of their hard-earned democratic right to vote.

The campaign also emphasizes the GPL’s commitment to ensuring that every resident’s voice is heard through active participation in elections.

The GPL will rollout the campaign in partnership with stakeholders, including the Electoral Commission (IEC) and the Department of Home Affairs (DHA), who will provide voter registration and education services.

The launch will take place on Tuesday, 18 November 2025, at the Brixton Multipurpose Centre @ 14h00.

Beyond the launch, the campaign will be rolled out as follows:
