PORTFOLIO COMMITTEE ON HUMAN SETTLEMENTS PUBLIC MEETING

COMMITTEE REVIEWS 3^rd QUARTERLY PERFOMANCE   REPORTS OF THE DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN SETTLEMENTS, THE GAUTENG PARTNERSHIP FUND AND FURTHER PROVIDES A STATUS REPORT ON RESIDENTS STAYING IN HOSTELS.

The Portfolio Committee on Human Settlements will on Friday, 01 March 2024 at the Halala Community Hall, Soshanguve, reviews the performance report of the Department of Human Settlements and the Gauteng Partnership Fund with the aim to verify that all public funds were spent on service delivery priorities for the Third Quarters 2023/24 financial year (FY).

The Committee conducts these reviews in the presence of Gauteng residents, who must either confirm or dispute what the Department has reported on based on the department’s service delivery priorities for the quarter.

The review of quarterly reports of Departments forms part of the Legislature’s oversight on the Gauteng Government, to ensure that every cent in the public purse is spent on the needs of Gauteng communities. Furthermore, the Department will make a presentation on the status report on residents staying in hostels.
