DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN SETTLEMENTS TO PRESENT ITS BUDGET TO THE PUBLIC
The Gauteng Provincial Legislature (GPL)’s Portfolio Committee on Co-operative Governance & Human Settlements will convene a public meeting at the Vereeniging Civic Centre on Tuesday, 17th May 2022 from 10h00 am.
The purpose of the public meeting is to afford community members and Gauteng citizens at large, an opportunity as well as a platform to interrogate the 2022/23 financial year’s budget of the Gauteng Department of Human Settlements. The Portfolio Committee will also assess whether the Department’s budget is aligned to the housing needs of the people of Gauteng; as well as make recommendations aimed at improving service delivery in this regard. The Portfolio Committee’s focus as it conducts oversight on the Department will be informed by the allocated budget; ensuring the Department uses the allocated financial resources to adequately respond to the needs of communities.
The Portfolio Committee invites members of the public to participate in this process by sharing their views through GPL’s digital channels.
