LEGISLATURE’S CoGTA COMMITTEE TO ENGAGE SEDIBENG STAKEHOLDER ON MUNICIPAL PERFORMANCE
The Chairperson of the Gauteng Legislature’s Portfolio Committee on Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (CoGTA), Hon. Ntsako Mogobe, will convene a stakeholder engagement with the Gauteng Department of CoGTA, Sedibeng District Municipality, and its constituent local municipalities.
The engagement will bring together representatives from Lesedi, Midvaal, and Emfuleni Local Municipalities to discuss municipal performance, progress on service delivery, financial viability, and opportunities for sharing best practices. As part of the proceedings, the Department of CoGTA will present the Municipal Performance and Audit Outcomes Report for the 2024/25 Financial Year, in line with Sections 47 and 131 of the Municipal Systems Act.
The identified municipalities will be invited to participate in both the presentation and the subsequent discussion.
The engagement aims to foster constructive dialogue between the Committee, the Department, and the municipalities, with a focus on strengthening municipal capacity, improving service delivery, and sharing practical approaches to drive improved performance across the district.
