The Gauteng Legislature’s Standing Committee on the Scrutiny of Subordinate Legislation (CSSL) will conduct its second round of oversight visits to key gambling establishments in Ekurhuleni on Tuesday, 15 September 2026.
Led by Committee Chairperson, Honourable Matshidiso Mfikoe, the visits form part of the Committee’s ongoing assessment of the implementation and effectiveness of the legislative and regulatory framework governing Gauteng’s gambling industry.
During the visits, the Committee will engage directly with industry stakeholders to assess whether the existing regulatory framework is achieving its intended objectives and keeping pace with developments in the gambling environment.
The Committee will assess:
•Compliance with applicable legislation and regulations;
•The impact of the regulatory framework on gambling operators;
•Challenges currently affecting the industry; and
•Areas where the legislative framework may require strengthening or refinement.
