Two major taxi ranks in Johannesburg (Bree & MTN Taxi Rank) will receive the much needed clean-up from the Gauteng Provincial Legislature’s (GPL) Men’s Forum.  The Forum consists of all male Members of the Provincial Legislature (MPLs) as well as male staffers.

As part of Men’s month activities, the Forum will drive a clean-up campaign, which aims to encourage Gauteng residents (particularly males) to be agents of the change they want to see in society. The clean-up drive will start at 10am at the MTN taxi rank and proceed to Bree taxi rank – calling on men to dispose waste appropriately, thus contributing to cleaner and healthier public spaces.

The campaign also aims to create public awareness among taxi drivers and general commuters about general hygiene, environmental preservation and health benefits of maintaining clean environments.

The GPL Men’s Forum envisages reaching out to all men in every corner of the province, urging them to be agents of social change. Members of the Media are invited to attend and cover the event.

Details of the Clean-Up Drive are as follows:
Date: Thursday, 20 July 2017
Time: 10:00
Venue: MTN Taxi Rank, Johannesburg
