The Gauteng Speakers Forum is meeting on 16-17 November 2016 to resume the work of the Gauteng Speakers Forum as well as to formally introduce the structure to the all the Speakers in Gauteng.
The Gauteng Speakers’ Forum (GSF) is the highest policy-making body and determines the framework within which the Provincial Sector operates. It is responsible for the political and strategic direction of the Sector.
The vision of the GSF is to deepen democracy, enhance good governance, improve government accountability and create laws that are just and fair for the people of Gauteng. In this way, the people of Gauteng, especially the poor communities must be assured to receive quality government services that are directly meant to improve their live.
After the Local Government Elections in August 2016, new Speakers were appointed in most municipalities which changed the membership of the forum.
