The Standing Committee on Public Accounts in Gauteng (SCOPA) will convene virtual public hearings with Gauteng Government Departments and their entities tomorrow, Friday 5 March 2021 from 08h30. The hearings are aimed at affording leaders of various Departments and entities (MECs and Heads of Departments) an opportunity to respond to the Committee’s questions emanating from the Auditor General’s Report regarding 2019/2020 performance.

SCOPA received a presentation from the Auditor General in February, reporting on the performance of Gauteng Departments and entities during the 2019/2020 Financial Year. The Committee has raised several concerns specific to Departments and entities; and is convening tomorrow’s hearing to further interrogate these Departments and entities, as well as make necessary recommendations. The hearing will focus on presentations from:

  • Department of Human Settlements and Gauteng Housing Fund
  • Department of e-Government
  • Department of Sport, Art, Culture and Recreation
  • Department of Health and the Medical Supplies Depot
