MEDIA RELEASE GPL SPARES NO EFFORT TO PREVENT ANARCHY: Violent protests by the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) aimed at disrupting the Tuesday Sitting of the Gauteng Provincial Legislature (GPL) have resulted in malicious damage to State property. The Legislature is now doing an assessment of all damages to property, which include broken windows, doors and furniture within the building with an intention to file a civil lawsuit against the EFF to pay for damages.



MEDIA STATEMENT - EFF ATTTEMPT TO DISTRACT THE HOUSE SITTING OF THE LEGISLATURE. The Gauteng Provincial Legislature (GPL) views today’s incident by Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) as unfortunate and a deliberate attempt to disrupt the House proceedings and business of GPL. This after members of the EFF, led by their party leader Julius Malema, forced entry into the Legislature and embarked on illegal activities within the premises.

Media Statement - Unbecoming conduct of EFF Members causes delays in the House sitting at the Gauteng Provincial Legislature sitting on the 01/07/2014: The House Sitting of the Gauteng Provincial Legislature convened today to consider the debate on the State of the Province Address was delayed by two hours as a result of Members of the EFF violating the Standing Rules of the House and being in contempt of the Presiding Officer, Speaker Ntombi Mekgwe who had requested them to leave the House on the basis of their contravention of the dress code as stipulated in the Rules.
