The Gauteng SpeakersForum through the CRC in partnershipwith Valued Citizens Initiative presents the programme called SONDELA student dialogue, the dialogue will focus on the awareness of cultures, reflect on the values of our society and Nelson Mandelas legacy from 27-28 February 2015 at the Gauteng Provincial Legislature. Launched in the presence of Valued Citizens learners on 5th June 2013 with the Speaker of the Gauteng Provincial Legislature, SONDELA is totally aligned with the Citizen ResponsibilityCampaign. The Valued Citizens Initiative engages the youth to participate indemocratic processes promoting the values of our constitution. Citizens Responsibility Campaign (CRC) will gather175 learners from 5 high schools in Gauteng on 27 February 2015 to take part in an open dialogue creating an awareness of cultures, reflects on the‚valuesof society and uphold the legacy of Nelson Mandela. From this dialogue, on the second day (28 February 2015), learners will process the words into symbols, colours through the production of 25 visual art pieces on canvasses and the production of a mural as a public artwork. The Valued Citizens Initiative has the mandate to deliver on this work and thought to create ameaningful partnership with the Gauteng Legislature and SONDELA; taking pridetogether.


On Monday, 23 February 2015, the Gauteng Provincial Legislature will host the first Sitting of the year, which marks the occasion of the Premiers delivery of the State of the Province Address for 2015. Presided over by Honourable Speaker Ntombi Mekgwe, the State of the Province Address is the opportunity for Gauteng Citizens to hear about the Gauteng Executives plan of action for the year ahead, which includes all service delivery commitments by Gauteng Government as well as the socio-economic state of the Province. The event will commence with a Morning Programme at 07h30, which includes red carpet interviews; entertainment; the police parade; and guard of honour among others. Gauteng Premier, David Makhura, will deliver the SOPA during a House Sitting at 10h00. STREET CLOSURES ON THE DAY . .


21 November 2014 The Gauteng provincial Legislature (GPL) will host its first official Sector Parliament for the Lesbian, Gays, Bisexual, Transgender and Intersex (LGBTI) sector. This is subsequent to a dialogue convened by the GPL in 2013, in an effort to reach out to this sector of society and foster inclusive governance. After a successful host of the dialogue, a decision was taken in the House to officially endorse the gathering into a Sector Parliament that would be convened annually. Click here for more.


Standing Committee on Petitions to hold a stakeholder and petitioners engagement which include petitioners and authorities on issues that relate to service delivery.
